Our Services

Important notice
Housing help does not own or manage housing units. We support individuals and families in their housing search by providing guidance, resources, and personalized assistance, especially for those who may not have access to technology or need help navigating online listings. Our team helps clients explore available rental options using public platforms and connects them with community resources, housing programs, and support services. While we do not provide financial assistance or control rental prices or availability, we offer advocacy, tenant education, application support, and referrals to help clients better navigate the housing system and work toward stable housing.

Facilitating access

Providing information on how to access emergency shelters, safe houses for the homeless or providing access for individuals fleeing domestic violence.

Counseling and support

Explaining tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities, and providing tools to help search for housing on the private market. We have a drop-in housing search centre where people can access coaching, look at housing ads and call landlords to make appointments to view apartments. Ads are updated regularly.

Intervention and prevention

Focusing on safety, health and sustainability to prevent housing instability and housing loss. We advocate for the tenant by assisting tenants with their landlord where appropriate.

Affordable housing applications

Providing assistance with the application process, including support with priority requests.

Paralegal services

For tenants appearing before the Landlord and Tenant Board, please note your case will be assessed for merit after which the Paralegal will decide if they will represent you or just provide information to you for your hearing.

We also require a few weeks notice to review your case to see if we can represent. In our offices, we offer a variety of brochures that explain tenancy rights in Ontario written by Community Legal Education Ontario.

Advocacy

By sitting on a variety of committees addressing various issues related to affordable housing and housing loss prevention.

Partnerships

With key organizations for a multi-faceted approach to housing loss and homelessness prevention.

We provide services in English, French and Arabic and in other languages as needed
